The battle flag of Northern Virginia is badass.

The only issue is some think that it has a persona and is causing racism. When in fact it is just an inanimate object.

You're right of course. All this "we're gonna stop selling it", yeah, that'll fix racism.

Good guy Walmart ends racism.

So you call bullshit because you can't do math? When you extrapolate those percentages out to the entire population, let's do the math:

Of the reported 3,407 single-bias hate crime offenses that were racially motivated, 66.4 were motivated by anti-black or African-American bias, and 21.4 percent stemmed from anti-white bias.

2263 vs 729.
315,000,000 X .13 = 40,950,000 blacks
40950000/729 = 1:56172 = 1 in 56,172 blacks committed a hate crime against whites.

315,000,000 X .63 = 198,450,000 whites
198450000/2263 = 1:87693 = 1 in 87,693 whites committed a hate crime against AA's.

Granted, it's not twice the rate like it was in the 00's (white pop has declined since then which alters %) but it changes every year; do this for any year and blacks will always have a higher hate crime incidence rate per person. While the FBI would love for you to only draw conclusions from cumulative statistics, we are smarter than that.

More proof:

We can keep looking up more stats if you'd like. This is the stuff that liberal media won't mention because... reasons.

so what is your theory as to why the statistics are as such?

What do you call this?

You were trying to shame people for not knowing how that article explains the link or for paying attention. It didn't start there either: it started with your "Mars" statement.

Obviously, I could have paid closer attention, but the manifesto was discovered after the Facebook page and neither the initial story you linked to nor the follow-up Facebook story linked the shooter to that specific flag. The link wasn't until his manifesto, by which time I was tired of reading the same rehashed blurbs about the shooting and his Facebook page and only gleaned that he was captured and that there was renewed controversy about the rebel flag. Nearly every article on the flag controversy just pointed back to the shooting with nothing about how it was related, so his question was valid.

It would've been better if you simply never said anything and let someone who actually had the answer answer his question. I could've just lurked and gotten the answer from someone who knew but, thanks to you and people starting to say it was on Facebook when it wasn't, I had to go digging.

What the fuck are you talking about?

I never quoted any article, made no links to any articles, facebook posts or any other source whatsoever, that took any position, you silly, misguided person.

I linked a news report detailing the charleston church shooting for someone (from Canada) who apparently hadn't heard about it.

Are you hallucinating some conversation we had in a past life?

Perhaps the Dingo ate your brain?
Take your meds, sit down and contemplate the real world advantages of acquiring an actual clue, you loon!

The point was, that article has nothing to do with a flag, without knowing how it's even linked. Without digging more into this guy's life I would have not known that he waved that flag at some point, and it was now considered racist just because it was waved by someone who killed people of a different race. I heard about the shooting, and at another instance I heard about some people being suddenly offended about this flag, and around the same time they legalized same sex marriage. It's pretty easy to figure that all 3 of those things are completely separate topics because they don't sound like topics that would be linked in any way. I would have never guessed the shooting and confederate flag fiasco would be linked any more than gay marriage and a shooting being linked. All 3 seem like completely separate topics to me at first glance. (just mentioned gay marriage as an example, as that was another big topic around the same time)

It's like if people TRY to find stuff to be offended about now days.

Say ISIS uses Mazdas for most of their vehicles, does driving a Mazda make you a terrorist?

But while we're at it, let's offend everyone! lol

People don't try to find shit to be offended about. Mostly. It had more to do with everyone having a mouthpiece to the world and the world reinforcing that everyone should have a mouthpiece. It's the Internet brah. That shit will kill you.

Issue a pisses off group a and issue b pisses off group b. Group a and group b do not overlap but each group is 10000 people that have a loud presence on the Internet and suddenly everyone thinks 20000 people are pisses off about issue a and issue b.

Awesome! ISIS is Badass. I was starting to think my Mazda was a chick car and wondering if I should trade it in.

Not sure if they actually do, I just used that as an example. I think they use whatever they get their hands on, like a plumbing company truck bought from the states. LOL

Edit: Actually I think they seem to use Toyota a lot. Maybe they get a special deal when they buy in bulk? :p

Errr, it's not considered racist "because it was waved by someone who killed people of a different race", it's considered racist because it represents a "nation" that was formed primarily to perpetuate slavery.

I never quoted any article, made no links to any articles, facebook posts or any other source whatsoever, that took any position, you silly, misguided person.

Red Squirrel (Canadian) asked why people were suddenly worked-up over this flag again. You provided a URL pointing to an article about the church shooting, and that article did not explain the connection to this flag issue. You continued to insult his comprehension.

What's with the confederate flag lately anyway? Hasn't that been around for a long time, why is it suddenly this huge issue that people are getting offended over?

I'll assume you're making a sick joke, or perhaps just returned from Mars.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/06/17/charleston-south-carolina-shooting/28902017/

Is that the right link? That's about a church shooting. (obviously pretty terrible) but no idea what that has to do with a historic flag?

In other news hardware stores are so hard to find on mars. Had to look everywhere for a replacement M5 screw for the rover.

Are you actually serious?

These two statements seem contradictory.

What's makes anyone believe, except for USA North Americans, that the rest of the World cares about the Confederate Flag when Slavery, Race Creed or Colour was always a none issue in a Democratic Free Society.

Never meant to insult Red's comprehension for a minute.

Expressing surprise that someone had not heard of the past weeks events is not meant to insult; I was truly incredulous until you pointed out his Canadian roots. (thanks, by the way).

NOT that I made NO links.

There is no contradiction.

If we ban the confederate flag for being racist and offensive, why haven't we banned rap music?
