Condosleezy Rice to replace Powell

This is ridiculous. Appoint a completey incompetent, worthless, lying POS to the most important position of our foreign policy.

I'd hit it. Oops, did I say that out loud? 😛

In all honesty, didn't we see this coming? I definitely don't feel like she's the best candidate for the position, but I'm not that worried about it either.

Is this reaching out right to heal America?

Does the president have the right to choose his people to advise and assist him?

Maybe the Dems can propose a replacement that will suit them and the Repubs (in the interest of healing).

Could the Dems have elected senators that would approve the cabinet selectees?

OOPS - forgot that the Dems are not in favor within the country's electorate, they have forfeited control of the Senate and thereby the ability to override appointees.

Wonder why this is so?

And they can not even bitch about the EC putting themselves in this situation.

More irrational drivel coming from... conjur? No way, couldn't be...

I would like anyone on this forum to name one thing that this woman has done during this administration that has made any impact. Has there been one proposal, suggestion or brilliant idea offered by her?

If there has been...I guess I missed it.

The most incompetent president of my lifetime got re-elected so somehow this doesn't surprise me. I am however pretty ashamed.

Bush Chooses Rice to Replace Powell

By TOM RAUM, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - President Bush has chosen national security adviser Condoleezza Rice to replace Colin Powell as secretary of state in his second term, a senior administration official said Monday.

Powell, a retired four-star general who often clashed with more hawkish members of the administration on Iraq and other foreign policy issues, resigned in a Cabinet exodus that promises a starkly different look to President Bush's second-term team.

The White House on Monday announced Powell's exit along with the resignations of Education Secretary Rod Paige, Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman and Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham. Stephen Hadley, deputy national security adviser, will replace Rice, the official said on condition of anonymity.
