I have tried rarely to post to Anandtech forums. But rather than help I have gotton "you should have knwn better" responses--even insults about my name. I had tried to contribute so others might not make the same mistakes I did, but found that the experienced posters were offended by what I said. I ran into the same kind of problems at forums in the Audio and Home Theater arenas years ago where the forums degenerated into shouting matches over which amplifier was the best etc. I hope that you can foster an attitude of welcome and friendly help here.

Based on the link, why are you complaining here that you did not get any help and felt insulted? A) You did not ask for help, you posted a complaint. B) Those folks just said their experience and expectations were different than yours and better than the competition. There was nothing saying you "should have known better".

I will say it though. You have unrealistic expectations. That does not just apply to the Canon photo printer.

Edit - Remember that you are in a media where what is typed is your only intercourse with another person. You MUST give any response some leeway as much of the interpersonal communications cues that we use in face to face conversation are missing.

I find that a highly ignorant response. Yes, thicker skin is needed here, but we could all use an attitude check on here and stop being negative. I try to be helpful and cheery in most of my posts hoping it will spread, unfortunately there are way too many pissy posts on here that n00bs see and then copy. And, responses like this get us no where. Hell I tried to discuss a video that I made last night, maybe get some tips or ideas, but I just got flamed (expcet for one helpful members) that it was a horrible video (when I admitted it was).

To the OP, just ignore them if you find their comments stupid or mean (not saying anyone is, just if the OP feels so), and if you feel the need to respond to their comments then do so in a respectful matter, you will find they will respond with a different demeanor, and things get cleared up. Don't sweat jerks, it's the internet.

Have a good day everyone. ;) :p

Did you read the thread in question? It's probably the most polite thread on all of AT, that the OP thinks there is an issue is nuts. The 'handle' comment he made even included the 'wink' to indicate it was 'friendly ribbing' not a personal attack.

Seriously, read the thread and see if you still agree with what you posted.

Oh I know the thread the OP pointed to is just silly and not meant to be mean. But, mosh saying deal with it is the typical response someone gets when someone feels like going on an internet power trip. :p

Deal with it.

Heh...that's pretty funny....

...and to the OP...the winking smiley indicated that it was a joke...it was not a big deal at all. The better reason to pick on you is to ask why you are buying ink refills at all instead of using a Hot Deal to just replace the entire printer! :D
