A special thanks goes to mechBgon for his assistance.
I will tell everyone that after building 2 - PCs 2 years ago I was frustrated at the noise and the heat generated by these 2 (AMD) machines. I was very close this time to just buying a Sony and saying the hell with it. Well after lots of research I decided to give it a go again and I couldn't be happier with my decision. With the machine running at 30C and with the Antec Sonata box very quiet I am very pleased with the results.
Final thoughts:
1. I did *not* need a floppy drive after all to load XP on my SATA drive.
2. If you have to push out the entire IO panel to get your motherboard to fit in your case make sure that none of the ports are covered by the thin shielding template.
3. I guess with 2 SATA drives the lights on the front of the Sonata are for IDE HDD and not SATA drives. ;-)
4. The Antec Sonata case is a *great* case except for the fact that the front bezel is a biatch to get off. BE patient. I broke one of my pins.
Thanks to all
