Late October the Jay-Z & Kanye West 'Watch the Throne' concert is in Atlanta. Those are my favorite modern musicians so it would be pretty awesome to see then in person.

What is the best place to buy tickets? Any approximation of how much money I'll be out?

Tips for going to a concert?

If the venue has a box office, buy the tickets there. Usually you'll be able to save a little bit of money by avoiding some of the fees. Otherwise, bust out the lube and bend over. I haven't bought anything off TicketNazi in a while, but it was an extra $10+ on top of the ticket (YMMV and I could be wrong).

As for actual concert tips: Drink water before you go in. There's going to be a ton of people, lots of body heat, and you'll sweat and get dehydrated. You really don't want to pass out in a giant crowd of screaming, dancing fans.

If you stand in the packed in area close to the stage, expect to be standing in a cloud of marijuana smoke.

stuff like this is why I can't go to most concerts anymore 🙁

I'm not sure which is worse:
1) Pot smoke
2) Fighting
3) Fat girls flashing their boobs

I'm not a big fan of concerts either. Although, I don't mind the concerts in stadiums where I can sit down in a seat and be around well-behaved people.

They are way too fucking loud, the lights are fucking annoying as hell, and more focus is put on how fucking loud they can make it and how fucking annoying they can make the lighting than on the music. Music doesn't seem to matter.

Unless by concert you mean anything like an orchestra or something - that would be different.

Have concerts gotten any better? I stopped going in the late 80's early 90's because the average age was 14.

Last concert I went to was probably most 20-30 year old people. It probably depends what kind of music you listen to. You must listen to pop music.

apocalyptica is next on my list

Just have fun. I don't know what kind of show that'll be. Some groups draw dickheads, and fights, but I don't go to those kind of concerts. Arena shows are kind of irritating. It's the only way you'll see some bands, but I've found it isn't worth it to me anymore. I'd rather go to bar, and see a good local band.

Metal, bluegrass, blues and Rock and Roll. One of the concerts that stands out in my mind was one of the last concerts of the Grateful Dead before Garcia died. I kid you not, the average age was about 14. WTF did they know about the Dead?

I've been to many a concert in Denver, when I was stationed in Cheyenne, Wyo. Saw Manson 3 times, slipknot 3 times, tool, ozzfest in 2001. Out of all of them I'd say ozzfest was the craziest. That year the main stage consisted of Disturbed, Slipknot, Sabbath, Black Label Society, Papa Roach and Linkin Park. Hell Mudvayne was on the second stage. Fucking incredible day. Worst concert I ever went to was a Master P concert in 97. Paid 50 bucks to watch the no limit crew stand on the stage and play a cd...wtf

Just make sure to smuggle in weed and booze so you dont get raped with the prices inside. Other than that you should be fine.
