We saw Queensryche last year and were right by the speaker. I wore earplugs, my wife didn't. It took her 3 days to get it back. Needless to say, she wears earplugs to every concert we go to now.

Its usually a couple of days. I been to quite a few concerts over the last few years, its starting to take less time for my hearing to come back. You gradually get used to it, i guess.

Couple of days sounds about right. I've prolly gone to a dozen concerts over the past year. Never took more then a day or so for my hearing to come back. Loudest one was Jerry Cantrell at HOB and the craziest, of course, Ozzfest.

If you listen to enough lound music, that ringing will become permanent. I hear alot of older rockstars (Townshed from the Who comes to mind) have to sleep with the TV on a white noise channel. That would majorly suck. But then, the other side of the coin is you are a rock star .That would not suck.

Always, always, always wear earplugs to concerts like that!

I saw Puddle of Mudd a few weeks ago. Before the concert we stopped & looked for earplugs, all we could find was the silicon stuff for swimmers (to keep water out of your ears). It actually worked quite well, I had no hearing loss whatsoever.
