Concerning powersupply fan..

I finally had it with my old dying pwfan and salvaged one form an old wreck of a computer a friend had..'twas a rather old comp, and the fan is 12V 0.12A whilst my old fan is 12V 0.14A ..is this ok ? Will it explode all of a sudden because the pw is feeding it too much power or will it hold ? I thought about using a chassifan I have left over, but that had 0.2A written on it, so I kind of thought this solution was better. Is it?

It will work fine. Just make sure you dont touch any of the open leads or components in the powersupply. Those capacitors hold alot of juice and can kill you if you get shocked.

Oh..hah, thanks. Didn't know that...I don't think I would have put my fingers on them while the thing was on, but you never know

Several places have said this thing about the capacitors being able to kill you, but curious if this actually happens. With all the people modding their cases and PSU there must be many who have shocked themselves, hopefully without dying.

Capacitors keep their charge after the power has been turned off.

Be careful.

just leave it unpluged for 10-15 min if your concerned. caps will just discharge themselves by then.
