This is the thread we all have been waiting for. I am doing this so that we can show Distributed.net the need for client-side MINI team support. Clients will still need to use ONE MAIN email address. This email address will be set to the MINI team's address by the user who desires to be part of that MINI team. Next, the DCnet clients will have to have support for a second email address or MINI team member I.D. #. This needs to be tagged when the person fetches and flushes from pProxies, just like the main email address.

The point of this thread is to display the need for this support. Please show your support and give ideas. Thanks.

Sure this is what's needed! Everyone knows it! If us small guys are ever gonna have a fighting chance against the likes of Russ and his crack rack miniTeAms are the only way to go!

As for the technology behind it there are probably many ways to do this but SAKs idea seems like a nice one!

As a reply to my own thread, I think these threads concerning miniteams will need to be MADE KNOWN to DCnet. Do I have support from you guys?

The idea is actually one I?m working on too. I'm hoping to get a proxy set up before next weekend so I can take and do just about the same thing your referring to. I figured as it developed it would bring local users with a common interest together and become internally competitive. I know it will be big with those that share a common interest at least, not to mention a few of their friends!;)

Russ: Maybe you'd be! But you would still toss me around like a toy any day! :D

Now how do we get DNet to implement our sorely needed miniTeAms huh?!?

Argh!! Miniteam stats would be so great. Otherwise people don't really get an idea how they are doing compared to other MINIteam members. Please help us out, Dnet. Haven't we helped you out. AnandTech rules!!

TwoFace,

I don't know about that. The rack only did 25.98 Mkeys/s yesterday.:)

Russ: Duh! 25 MKeys :p LOL I can't even do half that if I turn everything I've got to RC5... Your rack is something like 7.5 GHz isn't it? Well my total is more in the range of 1.6 GHz total :( So as I said a toy fighting against the wind ;) And besides my main computer does 9.5 hours of seti every 24 hours and I'm doing OGR so as you see I've got absolutely no fighting chance...
