Concerning checking my HDD without a floppy drive

Basically, my HDD is pure crap and I need to check it's stability. Unfortunately, the software that WD gives me needs to be run as a boot disk. The bad part is that both my PC's have messed up floppies. Is there anyway I can do this without a floppy?

There is a way to put the info on to a bootable CD-ROM which will act like the floppy. I've never done this, but most any CD writing program such as nero will do it.

I think the problem will be decompressing the WD program so you can burn it to disk. Its probably a .exe file that, when run, burns the image directly to floppy, right? In that case, I think you're out $13.75 at zipzoomfly.com

Hey, I just looked up that ultimate boot cd thing. Thats the ticket. Cool utility too.
