Concerned about temp with Q6700

I have the following configuration

Q6700 G0 1.31 vcore stock clocks
Abit IP-35 Pro
Gskill DDR 800 HZ's
OCZ GameXstream 600W
Artic Freezer Pro

When looking at Everest I see idle temps at CPU - 30, Cores 40 - 42. When running OCCT 30 min stability test temps reach CPU - 50, Cores 57 - 59. My question is this normal given my current setup, or does it appear that something is wrong.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

For one thing, it depends on your ambient temperature. Running a Core2Quad below 60C isn't going to hurt it at all. (Even above 60 with a G0 revision you're fine.) You might try lowering the voltage and seeing if it's still stable. That may reduce temps a bit.

That is the lowest Vcore I can select in the Bios. I believe that is the default Vcore for this model, but I am not sure. Ambient temp is around 21.

I understand that the typical recomended temp max is 60, but is that for the CPU or for the core temps?

Thanks Again

I have a CM 690 case with the front intake, rear exhaust, and side fans. I have mounted the Freezer using MX-1 compound. I had the same cooler and paste on an E6300 with no problems, but I may have put too much paste on this time or something.

So is the consensus that I should remount the HSF?

Thanks again for the advice.

Yeah remount it and always make sure it's a very thin film of paste, gotta remember when you mount the heatsink that the pressure exerted will make sure that it's in full contact, so if you apply too much it may come out a little more than you expected around the edges of the proc.

Ok,

Remounted HSF and temp is now reading 26 on CPU and 37 - 39 on the cores. I think this is more in line with where it should be. What should the load temps run?

Again thanks for the help.

Not quite that good. It may be because I just seated it, but Im running about 52 - 54 on the cores. About 44 on the CPU. Dont know what else I could change. Any ideas, or does this seem to be about the best I can get?
