I was going to download Morpheus from MusicCity, but a disclaimer at the bottom of their home page has me concerned. It says that if you are under 13, you must leave the site immediately. I'm in my late-20s, so that's not my concern. However, the feds passed a law last year saying that web sites cannot collect personal information from those under the age of 13. The fact that MusicCity has this disclaimer tells me that they collect personal information indiscriminately through their service.
Let's face it. MusicCity wants something for their "free service", and that's information. My personal information doesn't come free to any corporation that wants it. I'm a bit leary to download and use their software if I'd be trading the ability to download free music in exchange for information, be it IP addresses and/or usage data.
I'm curious to see what's in this for MusicCity.
