Concered about power now

I was running a 300w PS on an Epox 8kHA+ Mobo. The machine had quite a few things in it including my radeon 9800 pro. Long story short, last night the ATX connector melted. I was told that this is because my motherboard could not be powered by the power supply and that it what happens.

So anyway, I am looking for a new PC now. I was thinking shuttle. HOWEVER, since my incident I am wary of the wattage that the shuttle provides.

I have read all over and people are saying yea yea yea, the radeon 9800 pro is not problem in the shuttle machines (specifically SB75G2. I read it over and over, but I am still shakey on it. I would hate to lose another machine. So I ask you, will this machine blow up if I get it with the following:

DVD Burner
80 GIG SATA Drive
Radeon 98 PRO
ATI TV Wonder
P4 HT 3.x

That sounds almost like a loose connector or something which was causing arcing which was heating it up. Usually with a power supply, when you load it down too much it should just shut down or make your machine crash like crazy.

It was in there snug but I hadn't checked it ina long while. Do you think the sff machine can handle what I want?

you shouldn't have any trouble's going with shuttle xpc's.

I recently sold my sn85g4 which was an a64 xpc edition.

I had it running

2 x 120gb hard drives.
9800pro oc'd
asus tv tuner
cdrw/dvd rom

plus i had all 4 usb ports taken up.

the thing can pretty much handle anything you throw at it.

right now im running what you see in my sig and that's only with the 200watt psu from shuttle.
