I don't think this could possibly live up to the original. and Jason Momoa is too small to play Conan...

This. You can't replace Ahhhhhnahhhld with that guy. You might as well put Conan O'Brien in there, at least the name fits.

Considering in the trailer someone pronounces "Conan" like Conan O'Brien and not Conan the Barbarian (Conen vs Conaaaaan) they might as well have used Coco.

That trailer looked better than the last one.

It still looks just like a dozen or more other "sword and sandals" type flicks that I've seen over the past decade. It's like they've been making the same movie with different details for a while now. The Mummy, The Scorpion King, The Prince of Persia...different movies, but the same "feel".

Is anyone else getting a bit tired of these kind of trailers? Maybe I'm just getting old but it just seems tiring when they all seem alike. I half expect the trailer for the next romantic comedy to have repetitive jump cuts punctuated by the sounds of swinging swords intermixed with a dramatic conversation (always done with the same voice it seems) that finally culminates in the rock music starting up.

Sigh... damn kids and their music.

IIRC it's not actually a remake. It is the same Conan but it is one of the other stories from the books.

I agree with the general sentiment here; Conan needs to be a HUGE guy. However, as an action movie this might not be too bad. It needs to be rated R, it needs to have nudity and sex in addition to violence.

If they stick with the beefy gladiator type Conan, no possible way. If they did something different, they would have many good options, but this is Hollywood. I'm sure I've said it before in this very forum, but I would love to see a well done movie or mini-series of the rise and fall of Conan as king.

Teal: check.
Too damn dark: check.
Fast cuts, so the preview tells you nothing about he story, if there really is one: check.
Swords too big for humans to be using: check.
Interest: not check.

Looks good.

But just being "good" is not going to be enough to beat out the original. The remake is going to have to be "great" to beat out the original.
