Nice name, considering the author's.

Back on point: there's a good anthology out there somewhere. I think most of the stories appeared in sci-fi mags and the occasional short story collection. I may be wrong but I don't think there was really a cohesive multi book progression like a trilogy or anything. So unless you're into seeking out individual scraps an anthology might be the way to go.

The only one I've read is "The People of the Black Circle", but it was pretty good. Part of a collection, but I don't remember which/where.

The conan series has been written in by at least two authors at different times The original was Robert E Howard, then L. Sprague de Camp. From what I can tell it would be best to simply start with the first published one as there does not seem to be strict ordering.

There have been countless authors who have written Conan, none of them come close to the guy who created them, Robert Howard.

Read Howard's version, then read the other versions.

Mongol General: Hao! Dai ye! We won again! This is good, but what is best in life?

Mongol: The open steppe, fleet horse, falcons at your wrist, and the wind in your hair.

Mongol General: Wrong! Conan! What is best in life?

Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

Those consist in order all the stories Robert Howard wrote about Conan. They are not cronoligically ordered, but some of the best books ever written.

Yep. Read those first then read the pastiches (books written by other authors). They are laid out in the order that Howard wrote them.

You can also check out the www.conan.com forums and really find people who are way into REH and Conan.

Once you're done with those, read the Kull, Solomon Kane, Bran Mak Morn, El Borak, and all his other great works.
