I think Conan was caught off guard by the man's humor.
Conan was a bit too confrontational and would have done better by supporting the man's comments rather than attempting to one-up the man's comments.

I can totally sympathize with the bread guy though - great bread is just sublime. I brought a particularly good loaf a few days ago and ate nothing but bread (with a bit of cheese or humus) for almost 2 days

Yea that's one thing I get tired of sometimes of Conan doing but damn he is really funny sometimes by getting people like this bread guy to come on. This is classic.

i like to bake my own a couple times a month. its rare it makes it through the first day, and never through the second.
