I just boot my computer up and it's acting like it doesn't recognize me...mouse speed is off, and programs are all acting like it's the first time I've used them. A lot of settings have reverted to default. I'm scurrrred, sounds to me like something might be failing. What's it sound like to you?

It's been a long time since I had any computer trouble, so I'm due.

Using Windows 7 x64.

annd other stuff if it's helpful:

Only thing i can think of is that it is booting into windows safe mode. Although it would be pretty obvious if it was because it should tell you.

Could be that something deleted all your cookies and history. Try a System Restore to an earlier date.

Sounds like an issue w/ the registry to me.

The registry was such a great and horrible idea. Great idea to have one central database of all settings (so you didn't have files all over the computer), OTOH, one corrupted file = everything goes bye-bye.

As corkyg said, I'd try using System Restore and see if that helps...

It also sounds like your user directory folder is unreadable, so it created a new one, or created a new user altogether.
