Never tried to save one, but I often type a reply and then just close the window as I decide not to actually post. Of course, those are often the threads that end up locked and/or result in numerous bans...perhaps my better judgement has saved me a few times.

Sometimes I type out posts in Notepad prior to posting, but I never type them out and then try to save them.
