Computex 2002 Day 3 at Anands

Yea, to be quite honest, it is becoming clear where ATi is heading in regards to the fall launch. They are going to beat nVidia to the punch and produce a card that is just as good as nVidia's if not better no matter what it takes, even if it takes making a 10 Layer PCB Video card that is having very low yields on a dated .15 micron process. Te question is, how easily will it move to TMSC's .13 Micron process once it becomes avialable? We shall see.
 
I'd avoid the initial batch of R300, if, indeed, it ships on a 10-layer PCB with a .15u process. Just wait a few months for the .13u to appear on a (hopefully) more refined PCB.

Am I the only one a little bit disappointed that graphics cards seem to be getting larger and larger? Especially with the move towards low-profile, super-slim cases and "multimedia towers" ... and the growing popularity of mATX form factor applications, there just isn't any room for 10-layer monsters. nVidia is no better. Ti4600 reminded me of VooDoo SLI.

Yea, I agree. That is whats most likely to happen. HGopefully better drivers will arrive at about the same time.
