With the advent of internet, we both see the pros and cons. Pros being global access and a shrinking world. Cons being isolation when it comes to how connected we are to other people when used as a sole means of communication.

Being said, what is your opinion on this? A link to a similar topic can be useful in this discussion. Please limit to only useful discussion.

Computers had the potential for public good but that opportunity most likely is gone forever due to the corporate/Government takeover.

Computers are now used for nefarious purposes under what used to be considered illegal but is now legal loan sharking by said corporations.

They have made programs that extract all kinds of fees across accounts that were not possible before computers.

The most infamous is the "Universal default" crap scam that banks have come up with that if you are late on one account they nail you on every account across the different banks you may have an account with.

There is plenty of other examples but you should get the point.
