4 new desktops from Dell with IE9 + THE online application that does not play with 9 = much sadness.
Microsoft has downgrade capability, but IE8 was never on there to begin with.
I have a support ticket in with the software company and am calling Dell now, but I'd see if there was any way to get IE8 as a download for win7 x64.
I can get it for many other OS's, just not 7.

check to see if it was installed as an update (which it might have been) -
Control Panel>Programs and Features>View installed updates

Look under the Microsoft Windows section, and if you see Windows Internet Explorer 9, right click and choose uninstall.

You wouldn't be able to download IE8 for Windows 7 because it was built in to the OS so there never would be a need to download it normally (just as IE7 came with Vista, I haven't checked but I'm assuming there's no downloadable copy).

In XP there is the "Add or Remove Windows Components" in the "add or remove programs" section of Control Panel... Is there something similar in Windows 7? That is where you can install/uninstall Internet Explorer usually...

did not ever have 8 to downgrade to. IE 9 is not in "add/remove", it is only in "turn off windows components". I may be screwed here.
EDIT:
I just opened these and some toshiba lappys up here today, and the lappys were good to go with 8 and I stopped the "upgrade" to 9.
These dells were at 9 out of the box.

It was, than you so much. I was stuck in the mindset that it was not an update I did.

It was done on 11/30/2011 just before shipping.

I'd be more embarrassed but I'm too happy!
