in the interest of saving precious dorm room space, ive been thinking about useing one of those mini bookshelf stereo systems as my computer speakers, through an auxiliary port. how does the sound quality of these compare to a comparably priced set of powered speakers (lets say a budget of less than $200)? will i notice the lack of a separate subwoofer? how much power do i really need for a dorm room?
