After a while you stopped being surprised when you meet people who do not know what you know or have had different experiences.
 
Hey, I'm a student at UC Berkeley. But yeah I know what you mean, lots of kids here don't know jack about computers. That's how it is anywhere, though.
 
back in ~1988 (I believe), I went from a Basic machine to a Windows 3.1 machine. I had no clue what to do when the store said here it is... it's all setup for you...

Sure the Windows GUI is 2nd hand to us now, but it wasn't always the case...
 
It really is quite amazing how little college students today actually know about their computers... hell, they all download movies and music, chat online, cruise the net, type papers... and yet they have no clue about the technology they are using. Quite sad really... I'm no mechanic, but you can bet your ass I learned the basics of automobiles when I was finally able to drive...
