Computers are a sickness

I do not remember exactly what year it was, but back when Intel first came out with the 733mhz PIII I went out and upgraded my computer to HP's model with this processor. I was so happy I had the latest and greatest though the computer slowly became outdated. Today I am running what I believe to be a pretty nice computer, but everytime something new comes out I am not happy until I get it (To a certain degree that is...). For example, I am running a gig of OCZ 2x512mb Rev2 Platinum in my rig. Yesterday I orderered the 2gig kit of the exact same memory because todays games just eat the memory up.

It's a freakin' sickness!

PC games > Xbox

I have an xbox, the only game I have played on the Xbox that I would even begin to compare to PC games is Chaos Theory. The multiplayer for that game is awesome. HL2 + CS:S for the PC owns any console game out there.

so when you buying the 4800+?

Haha, I would love one but I can not afford it. Same thing goes with a 7800GTX. I can assure you that when they drop into my price range (if ever) I will be all over it.

No current benefit in games AFAIK with Dual core. Can someone enlighten me?

I think it's just you. I've had my Athlon XP 1600+ for quite some time now, and just upgraded from 256->768MB of RAM this year. And I'm running an AIW 9800 Pro.

Exactly. So my point still stands. Dual core has no benefit in a gaming rig.
