My wife wanted me to ask if any one out there has a computerized embroidery machine. What make an model? What are the pros and cons? She wants to "digitize" her own patterns (our kids's art work) etc.

If you are talking about a sewing machine, the Husqvarna Viking Designer 1 is considered by many to be one of the best. To digitize art work and embroider it, you will also need their Embroidery Pro software.

The machine is about $5,000.00 and the software another $2,000.00. There are lesser machines and cheaper embroidery programs out there too.

Check out Viking, Brother, Bernina and Singer embroidery machines on their websites.

I second the viking, EXTREMELY impressive, unfortunately, it costs $2000, and if you want to embroider, you will have to buy a seperate add-on arm that costs around $1000

Software is a ripoff!
