A Co-Worker is having troubles with her computer, so I said I'd take a look at it. She told me her Uncle told her the PSU was bad, she bought a new one and when you press the power button nothing happens (PSU fan doesn't even spin) I told her I thought it was the MB, which was my best guess without really getting into the system. So she ordered a new MB off Newegg. I put it in for her, when I press the power button nothing.
I checked the CPU, the core doesn't have any cracks on it, and there are no burn marks around it. It's an Athlon XP 2600+. I've built tons of PC's and don't remember ever having a problem where the PSU wouldn't go on due to a bad CPU. I know it's not the PSU because I've tried 2 brand new ones, it can't be the MB because I've tried 2 (the original, and the one we ordered from Newegg)
What else could be causing this? Been awhile since I've had a problem where a PC totally wouldn't turn on.
