hi i am a newbie so be gental.
i was "fixing" my freind computer. so i took out the little battery on the mother board and tried powering it on. it worked ok. i restarted it and unpluged the power from the wall outlet. than i tried to power it on without and battery in the mother board or the power pluged in hoping it would magicaly reset the bios or something. but then i put everything back and now the damn thing wont even turn on. when i hit the power button nothing happens. no lights or beeps. dear god what have i done. someone help.

one more thing my mother board is a t bird amd k7, or at least that is what the thing on it says. the rest of the computer is generic so there is no certain brand like hp or dell. my friends dad well shoot me if i dont fix this thing so pleaes help

Also check to make sure you didn't just flip the power supply's rear rocker switch to the 0 position. Breathe! In... out... in... out... there ya go 🙂

never mind i looked around and i got some advice from jiffylube1024 to reset the cmos and it worked. if anyone is having the same problem the cmos is located near the motherboard battery. it is 3 little mettal prongs sticking up and it has a conecter. if the conecter is placed so that prong 1 and 2 are conected this is the reset position. put it in reset position and try to turn it on (with the power plugged in) then set it back to how it originally was and thats it. if your still not sure what a cmos is look it up in google images
