Woke up today and my old computer wouldn't start. I took out the power supply, cpu, and video card and put it in a comparable pc and it worked fine. When I turn it on, the fans start spinning, even the one hooked only into the motherboard for the cpu. The cdrom spins up, but strangely the hard drive doesn't spin up. But, I put the hard drive in another pc and it does spin up. Plus, I don't think the hd would have anything to do with the monitor or pc never even doing anything besides making fans spin, right?

So, do you think it must be the motherboard?

Probably, you should make sure by pulling the battery and resetting the board though.

unplug ur power supply, then press "on" button on ur computer and hold it for 30s to discharge all capacitors, then connect everything back together.

if you can't post, it's not a hdd problem.
