I decided today I was going to finally install my DVD burner into my case as I hadn't done it since I got my Antec Solo and then when i went to turn it back on the video didn't work. Restarted it a few times to see what it wold do and still all it did was turn on and blink my hard drive light at me (constant evenly spaced). I decided well let's try swapping out the video card to see if that would fix. Still no change. Sometimes besides just spinning fans and blinking that darn LED at me (no pattern, just same quick evenly spaced) it will sound like it is about to start up but then die and and restart and die and restart... I tried moving my ram out and using just one of the sticks in each and every spot and still no change. I also cleared my CMOS as per manual with battery from mobo. Any ideas? My ram? My mobo? My PS? Not my poor C2D...

I should have seen this coming though, my 8800GT SC is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Freakin Murphy...

Edit:btw Mobo is Gigabyte P965-DS3 and PS is 500 watt Enermax Liberty (modular baby!)

well, what did you remove to install the burner? sounds like a cable was pulled loose somewhere. so, make sure all the cables are snug,m the burner is properly jumpered, all the ram has been reseated, and the video card has been reseated.

The only thing I removed was the plastic cover on the front. had to add another cable for the power and the IDE ribbon for the drive. Btw, stole my roommates RAM and it works. Hmm, somehow I managed to fry BOTH my ram modules. It's working for now but definitely gonna keep an eye on this one.

somethings not right, there's something you omitted for the ram to be the only thing fried.
