This is driving me nuts! Ok, so I was making some changes last night to shell32.dll using Reshacker. Specifically, I first went to this Neowin.net thread and clicked on the second link.
I've never done anything with Reshacker before, but I was just trying to do simple stuff, like editing my context menu. All I did was try to remove Create Shortcut Here item and rename some of the other items in the context menu. So, I followed one of the tutorials for it and it wasn't working. I then checked another place and said I had to find all instances of shell32.dll and replace them. Thus, I searched and found 5 of them. I replaced them all. I replaced shell32.dll in the following directories.

C:\WINDOWS\
C:\WINDOWS\system32\
C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386\
C:\WINDOWS\LastGood\system32\
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllcache\

I rebooted and then bam! I get this message.

The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
I press ok. Another dialog comes up.
The Logon User Interface DLL msgina.dll failed to load. Contact your system administrator to replace or restore the DLL. (There's a restart button).
I never directly changed this msgina.dll file, I guess shell32.dll did. I click the restart button and the same thing happens repeats after booting up. BTW, this is after WindowsXP loads, but right before the Logon screen comes up (I use LogonStudio, btw).

My specs: WinXP SP1 (legit), 512mb memory, 2.6 ghz Pentium4.

I screwed up big time, but I thought if I followed the tutorials and just made tiny changes, everything would be alright. Note to self: never mess with shell32.dll. Now, I have no idea what to do. I didn't have much time to attempt fix it... I did try going into safe mode, and going back to the last good configuration but to no avail. Any ideas what I could try to do? Is there any luck for me without reinstalling WindowsXP (although I am prepared to do it)? If there is information that I'm missing, please let me know. Thanks for any help.

Also, do you guys know of other places where I can also get some help? Some other forums, perhaps?

Try running a repair. Boot the the xp cd, pick enter to install windows, press R to repair. It should not lose any of your data.

It worked! I had to remember some dos commands and remove the corrupted one and rename the backup dll to shell32.dll. A quick restart and all is well now. I was so worried there for a sec. Thanks a lot!!!
