Computer won't start up completely

Last night I started having ads on all websites being hijacked by I assume some kind of spyware on my computer. This morning when I turned on my computer, it wouldn't, and still does not completely load.

Some applications that should start at startup, do not, and will not open at all. aol instant messenger will not load, logitech utility does not work properly, and a few other programs do not work.

I scanned with adaware, avg anti-spyware, and symantec anti-virus, but no fix. Here is my hijackthis log if it helps. Not sure where to go from here

If you haven't tried System Restore yet, that might be an easy way to reverse the damage, then do some clean-up scans. Any ideas on how the malware attacked initially (bad website, sketchy downloads, ???)?

I just noticed the whataboutadog.com entry. pretty sure that's not good I'll try system restore. though anyway

I am pretty sure that was me a while ago. but I restored and everything seems fine system restore always slips my mind. Thanks a bunch

You're correct. That's a sign of what you were infected with. Are all of your programs working now? What about ITunes, QuickTime and Java? Did you run HJT again and, if you did, how does the log look now?
