Computer won't shutdown or reboot....

Hi i just installed RC2 and everything is running nice and smooth except for one thing. Whenever i shutdown the computer, windows logs out and proceeds to shutdown but my computer doesnt turn off. It just stays at a blank screen with no signal from the monitor. This also happens when i try to reboot...it will go to that same blank screen and will not restart the computer unless i do it manually by pressing the reset button on the tower. Any clues?

Check your power options (advanced tab) in Control Panel to see if you have it set to standby when you hit the power button.

same thing with me! this started with SP2. pisses me off. i would go back to build 5728 if it wasn't for the fact that they fixed the sound studdering.

edit: BTW, I already filed this as a bug. hopefully M$ will fix this in the next build.

nope, power options are all set to either "never" or highest possible performance settings...anyone else?

That's not on the Advanced tab in XP but maybe Vista is different.
