Computer won't shut down!

Subject title pretty much says it all. Since last nite, my computer will not shut down, I go thru the normal shut down procedure and select "shut down", but it always reboots. Any ideas? I have updated my Norton Antivirus, but it doesn't detect anything. Thanks in advance.

I have that same problem, with a st00pid Tyan Trinity 400 MB, except it just hangs and doesn't shut down, sometimes it evern doesn't start up...

I don't have any tweak other than tweakui, and i didn't change any settings in it. I downloaded startup cop, but have not installed it yet. This is a P3 600 on an Abit bx6 rev. 2 mobo, with no previous problems whatsoever.

this is not going to help you much, but I'd still like to share this experience a friend had:
His computer didn't shut down anymore for weeks and months. He then took his computer home from college one long weekend and it just shut down normally again @home.

Maybe your poor box needs a little scenery change? 🙂

Got it! I disabled fast shutdown in msconfig, and did a Windows update, not sure which one worked, I did them at the same time. Thanks for the help.
