I have an Asus p4p800 deluxe motherboard with a 1.8 P4. Till an hour back it had 512 mb of pc2700 ddr ram. i got myself a 512mb pc3200 ddr ram, a hitachi sata 250gb drive and a promise sataII150 tx2plus card. i installed these but windows wouldn't load up.i couldn't even boot from a floppy. it would just go blank after reading the floppy for a bit
so i disocnnected everything i had newly installed and tried to power up to see if it would work. but now a new problem has occured. The computer won't power up.the green led on the motherboard is on and i have an antex 550w true power psu. if i switch off the power button at the back of the psu, wait for the led on the motherboard to go off, then switch on the psu power button and then the cabinet power button, the computer comes on for just a few seconds(maybe a couple or so) and then goes off and won't light up again til the psu switch is switched off, the led goes off. then again the same cycle repeats.
any idea what could be wrong?
