computer won't post

I need some help! My computer won't boot past the self post test. It recognizes the harddrive on primary and the cd-rom as the primary slave. Once this is done it just sits there with a blinking cursor and does nothing more. This is a computer that was running yesterday. even control alt delete do nothing. And it dosent boot to floopy... Any thoughts on any of this?
