The problem is my computer won't post. It was the first time i put everything together and as soon as that was done, pressed the power switch, and the computer powers up but nothing comes up on the monitor. I know its not a monitor issue nor a video card because I've tested these on a different computer. My setup is:

DFI LanParty UT P35-T2R
Q6600
4x1gb Crucial Ballistix DDR2 1066
BFG 8800gt OC
Silverstone Strider 600 Watt PSU

any help would be most appreciated.

believe me I've replugged these more than 10+ times. I doubt that's the problem, but I'll try it a few more times since it won't hurt me. thanks for the advice

Also note the 4-pin power fittings, J1 and J15 :camera: located at the rear of the motherboard just above each video card slot, if those escaped your notice before. These would take the smaller of these two power cables :camera:. DFI's manual recommends using these extra power connectors if you run more than one video card. Personally, I would use them regardless, since they help spread out the power delivery. Couldn't hurt.

If problems persist, also consider testing the system using just the absolute essentials: CPU/heatsink/fan, one memory module, one video card, NO drives, NO other cards, NO keyboard or mouse. Check the power supply's 115V / 230V slide switch to ensure it's set correctly for your region's voltage, too.

If problems still persist, try clearing the CMOS using the procedure shown on page 47 of the manual, and if necessary, remove the motherboard from the chassis, lay it on cardboard, and test it outside the case (to eliminate possible short-circuit scenarios).

Well I've attempted everything that mechBgon advised me to do and neither of them was a success :(... I've noticed that the diagnostic light comes up 88 as a post code... what would this mean? And also I forgot to mention that the memory were Crucial Ballistix Tracers and that the TOP LEDs doesn't light up. Not sure if thats worth mentioning.

well, checking on those two important bits of info.

okay: crucial does not touch dfi boards, so would need to see the exact specs for the ram you have and ram that is recommended for that board. as for the 88 code here's some reports from other users "i guess the 88 code is the "catch-all" for errors... i just went through it myself but for me it was due to the 8-pin power connector not being securely connected to the board..." and "I have made my rig post 88 about 3 or 4 times as a result of bad/incorrect BIOS settings & each time I have pulled the power cord out of my PSU, removed the CMOS battery & moved the CMOS jumper to pin 2/3 gone & made a cup of tea put the power cord in battery in CMOS jumper to 1/2 hit the power button & the board booted right up.". I would suggest you check to see if the onboard speaker is jumpered off or on, if it's off, turn it on.

I'm not seeing any other fix except to RMA the board, if it's under warranty, if not, start hunting for a board.
