I built my brother a new system the other day heres the specs:

300 Watt psu from newegg with the antec 1030b server case
Msi KT266A Mobo
Athlon XP 1600+
Crucial 512 megs pc 2100
Msi Geforce 2 mx 400
sb live! 5.1
firewire card
Westerndigital 40 gb 7200 rpm
maxtor 13 gb 5400 rpm
thermal right sk-6
lne100tx (linksys) ethernet card
Windows 2000 service pack 2

It was running fine for the past few days...i built it last week... and now it wont ever power on. I have tested it with another psu but to my dissapointment it has not worked. I moved the processor into my system and it ran fine so its not my processor. I get no lights or any sign of life when i hit the power button. I've checked the cables and have done numerous checks to make shure nothing is loose. I dont't know what happened. I find it very hard to beleive that a mobo could've died within 5 days of usage. Please help...this system was not overclocked in anyway. Im asking...no begging for your help.

Thanks,
SokoDUde

Is the CPU fan working? If it died out, your computer might not turn on because it will overheat. Try taking everything out and start with the bare minimum. Good luck

the fan is working and i have checked the processor in my system....the system will not do anything at all when i power on..anyways, thanks for the advice - ill take out most of the cards and see if that fixes it but anymore ideas would be greatly appreciated!

This may seem too simple but check to make sure the power on switch on the case is properly connected to the motherboard. If that isn't securely plugged in, you won't be able to power on. Good Luck. When you fix the problem, let me know what you found.
