Computer won't boot!

A friend of mine has a computer that recently just stopped working, after he turned it off one night. When we turn the computer on, the fans start to spin but nothing else happens, no screen-activity. The weirdest part is that I got it to work for a while by replacing his geforce 5600 with my old Geforce 3. So we figured the graphics-card was broken and borrowed another 5600 from a another friend. But when we put that one in, the same problem occured! And now, when we put the geforce 3 back in, it won't work with either card. Nothing else we have tried makes any difference.

What really bugs me about this is the fact that we got it working there with the geforce 3 for just a bit, but then... oh well. Does anyone have a clue to what the problem could be? Something with the AGP-port? Power problem?

Thanks in advance!

I would reseat everything in the pc...cards, memory, cpu, cables, etc.

If still no change, I would think your next step would be to swap out the power supply from a working pc to test in this one.
