Computer wont boot

I just bought a new Mobo and CPU, and something is strange now. When I turn on my power supply, it powers on the computer, but only for about 2 or 3 seconds, not long enough to even try to load anything. I don't even have the power on/off wire connected and it does this. I tried switching it on myself once I connected the wire, but nothing. The only way to get it to do anything is by turning off the PSU then turning it back on, and then it just does this same thing.

Here's the links to the new parts.

If I had to guess I would say something is shorting it out. BTW, the only other things connected are the video card and ram.

Thanks in advance, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, it's still doing this even with the motherboard outside of the case with absolutely nothing connected to it. I took out the CPU, ram, videocard, Everything. I used two different power supplys, same thing. I tried each of these power supplys with my old motherboard and it doesn't do it. Unless there's some jumper or something that needs changed, this seems like a bad motherboard.

Did you make sure to connect up the 4 pin 12v connector located behind the cpu socket? Your old board may not have used one of these so it can be easy to overlook.

Ya I tried that. I tried without that. I tried with the detatchable 24 pin thing connected, I tried with it disconected with only 20 pins. It just seems like the power butting is constantly being triggered, because it turns off in roughly the same time you would have to hold a power button to turn it off. Is there something that could be tripping the power like a jumper or something?

Recheck to make sure everything is properly connected, double checking doesnt hurt, sometimes it can be something really stupid and you will say damn im a dumbass lol.

On the otherhand it could be a different issue.

Check your CPU and see if its seated properly and facing the right way. Had the same problem when I booted up my ASUS and the onboard voice spoke to me, via the mobo and connected speakers. First time I ever had a computer tell me what was wrong. (K8N-E Deluxe)
