Computer won't boot

I bought this sweet new case, and I switched all of my hardware over to it. Now, I plugged everything in and press the power button, and nothing happens. I flip the swithc on the psu and try again, still nothing. I unplug the power and replug it, and when I do this, the green ccfl fan I have on my heatsink flashes for an instant, and then nothing. Even the little red led that glows when I have my computer plugged in isn't on (so I don't think the problem is with the jumpers). It is as if my psu just stopped working. I have no idea what could have caused it to stop working, because I didn't change any of the internal hardware, just the case.

It sounds like something is shorting out at least one of the voltage rails in your power supply. A few things to check:

1. Make sure your motherboard is not shorted to the case. You may have to take it apart and reinstall it.

2. Reseat all plugin cards, your RAM and, if necessary, your CPU. Since there is always some slight chance of phyisically damaging your CPU when you do this, you can try everything else, first.

3. Make sure all wires from the case go to the right connectors on your motherboard.

Hope this helps. Good luck. :)

I can't find my old case (which came with my current psu) at newegg anymore, and I don't feel like taking out the case to look at the psu to find the model, but it is 450w. I don't have much else in my case other than fans and cd drives. I even unplugged my cd drives and it still didn't work.

Did you double check that all of the motherboard standoffs are in the right place. It could be a short between your motherboard and your case if one of the standoffs is touching something it shouldn't.

well, I'll have to check the mobo short thing, but I tried another psu, and it didn't help... this is bad, now it is probably something more expensive. I took out the mobo and put it back in and it didn't help at all.

I want to thank you all for the help, I got everything working again. The problems was that the mobo was shorted. I have a brace on the back of my mobo for my heatsink (a very big heatsink), and it was touching one of the standoffs.
