So I awake this morning with my monitor displaying "no video" (i keep the pc on all night). I move the mouse and press the keyboard. Still no video.

I reboot the machine to no avail. Now I don't think it is booting at all. The keyboard lights do not go on and the cd roms never spin up indicating a boot. And the monitor still shows "no video"

What gives? I was using it fine last night:(

UPDATE:

So this is interesting. Left the puter off for a day... decidede to try again this morning. First is booted into safe mode, but the screen was all blurry and filled with block of messed up colors. Booted into safe mode. Then rebooted normally. Now I'm using it fine.

Thoughts?

Specs would help :) First guesses: either the mobo or the power supply (or both) went to The Great ATX Case In The Sky last night. Got another PSU you could try, for starters?

Power supply's still running (at least i can hear it)

Some specs:
- Asus A7N8X
- AMD 2500+ chip
- 512mb PC3200 ram
- Win XP
- GEForce 2 400 vid card

Could it be a bad vid card? Cuz before this I was having probs with fuzziness and weird colors on my screen (refresh rate fixed this for a while)

I'd still try another power supply, but if you have another workable video card and it's easier to try that first, then go for it.

Any lightning activity in your area last night maybe?

No, only thing is that we had some snow... but I have it connected to a decent power strip that should cancel out any spike
