Nothing. Absolutely nothing. No boot let alone the beeping if the RAM, vid card, network were placed in improperly.

All components WORKED before I transfered them to a new case and added new harddrive.

What could be wrong? Its plugged in. There is no hard AT power switch on the PSU unit. Not sure what else to check? I tried reversing the power switch jumper so it was different way on the board but still nothing :(

Any clue what could cause this? I accidentally dropped one of the RAM sticks (2nd in the slots) when moving it. But it seemed OK so I put it back in. Even if it was broke it should still boot, just beep like crazy with boot codes right??? any clues? i really appreciate your time thanks.

Woops i should mention that the case is not new per se, its just another computers that i owned..... in any event ALL parts worked 100% before this.

As for the PCB not touching the case? How to avoid this? The last board in the case AFAIK touched the mounts on the motherboard tray straight up? I've not used those felt thingies...is that a problem???

Never had a problem before just mounting the PCB straight to the motherboard tray...but any tips are helpful!

the metal mounting holes on the board are ok to touch metal. mmmm, make sure you jumpers are set correctly on the board (clear cmos, clock settings if you have that)

Well basically EVERYTHING was the same when it was transfered over except the harddrive
So no jumpers nor CMOS need cleared.

This is bothersome I hope its not broken :(

Ok got it booted now! hooray my hardware is not dead :)

Well what I did:
first I tried another power cable to my power bar.
i listened hard and hear my hard drive "click" a couple times but nothing else.
then I plugged it DIRECTLY into the wall instead of into the power bar (just testing)
this time i could see the CPU fan spin like 3 times as a "spurt" of juice hit it then die
then i loosened the screws on the board connecting it to the motherboard
gave it a few seconds
now it boots
go figure

maybe i shorted it when they were too tight?
anyhow have a great evening

hi there.
make sure to remove any extra mounting screws in case.
and be sure they match your mobo holes with mounting screws.
if there is any mounting piece where there is no hole on mobo , it may be touching components on mobo which results in short ckt and theus no boot.
good luck.
