Hey guys,

I went away on a break and came back to turning on my computer and the fans turn for 1/2 a second then nothing at all. My specs are in my signature, I have tried troubleshooting by unplugging everything and the same thing happens.

On my Gigabyte X58-ud5 board the blue light on the power button stays on and next to the power cable there is a yellow light. I am not sure if this was there before or not.

Any ideas how to see what the culprit is?

Which of the LEDs are yellow? Is it the top two, the middle two, or the lower two of the group?

If the top two LEDs are yellow, those indicate a DRAM overvoltage situation (i.e. simply that your system is overclocked). The middle two and lower two simply indicate memory load and north bridge load. In the user manual, pages 7 and 22-23 explain the different LEDs.

You might try resetting the CMOS memory to remove the overclock. If that doesn't work, I'd immediately suspect a power supply failure (Corsair units are generally great; however, they can fail just like any other). Do you have one you can swap it out with to test?

I agree that you should clear the CMOS. Return to defaults is always the first step to troubleshooting an overclocked machine.

If that doesn't help, try reseating the memory. It might have gotten cold while you were away and lost good contact with the socket.

Plus, if you have two memory modules, try booting the system with only one installed. If that doesn't work, swap the modules and repeat.

Figured it out after the paperclip trick, my HX 750 Power Supply crapped the bed. Weird.

Ah, the good ol' paperclip trick...always nice to see that such a small piece of office supplies can be oh so helpful.
