not sure if this should have gone under 'newly built' thread cause its a different issue i think. i deleted some pocket pc programs from my HDD and restarted like instructed to finish un-install but the pc will not boot. HDD, processor, system fans and PSU fans all power up but no win XP screen. i have rebuilt system ad cleaned the dust out of the case. when i power it up the sytem fires up fans hdd etc, but monitor will not come on. when i unplug a few IDE ribbons from optical drives HDD speeds up a notch. not sure whats up. any and all suggestions are appreciated. thx.

It may be when you cleaned the dust out of your PC, The static from the dust fried your Video card.. If your monitor dont come on now.. May be just that.

take out video card and reseat it making sure its firmley in place. if not work proceed to next steps.

No unplug all the power to the drives and ribbon cables from the board. as well as any extrerior cables.

clear CMOS and try to boot.

but then again it depends what the pocket PC files were.....did you get any messages up during the uninstall asking if you were sure that you wanted to delete shared files?

Also have you got windows system file protection turned on or off?
