Computer wizzes, what is this artifact???

Recently upgraded to LCD monitor, and now suffer from from following artifact:

This isn't a screen capture from my computer, but I have a milder version of this problem. Didn't have it with my CRT screen.

Any idea how to get rid of this??

I've seen it before on crappy machines, but mine's not too bad: AMD X2 4800 , 2G ram, 2 x 7800GTX SLI, latest drivers.

Please help! 😕

I don't know what that is but could it be a SLI issue? Have you tried removing on of 7800GTX's and see if the problem remains?

Thanks very much to the penguin contingency for chiming in!

xtnight, how would you work through determining bad refresh rate/interlace modes? BTW, the new monitor is the Samsung 275T. Had the same problem with 2407WFP-HC that I returned b/c of the ghosting issue.

Set the refresh rate to 60 Hz and see if if goes away (Display properties / Settings/ Advanced / Monitor Tab / Screen refresh Rate).

Nope, not referring to that (which in this case is effect of taking a pic of an lcd without a flash). You're correct. No way should one have moire effect on an lcd.

I'm referring to the trail seen when dragging a window (not ghosting).
