I am working on a slot Athlon 700 mhz system with an KA7 abit motherboard. The monitor went black while my brother was surfing the web. He had to do a hard reboot and nothing worked. The only thing that I can tell on the motherboard is that the fans are powered up. I removed everything except 1 stick of ram, the processor, and the video card. I tried two different sticks of ram and two different video cards and still nothing. I also tried booting without a video card to see if it would beep and it didn't. Anyone know if this is either a processor or motherboard failure?:frown:

The problem may be due to a bad power supply. You could test the voltage on the ATX connector if you have a voltmeter... Linkage Or try another power supply.

I actually tried another power supply... I am leaning towards it being the motherboard... Hopefulyl I will be able to test my system with someone elses motherboard tonight. Thanks for the ideas.
