YIKES! It must have been the dastardly Y2K1 bug! cause I saw more strange she-it last night than I did the year before! check it out.

ICQ - Suddenly thought it was everyones birthday and that they were born on 01/01/1900

Roadrunner Cable Modem - Just died.. no connection... connection back this morning.

Programs - many trial programs I had installed quit working completely said my time was up even though I had just installed them a few days ago!

It was very strange indeed... anyone else have strange happenings, or am I Nuckin Futz?

I had no issues here. My machine was online via my DSL connection and had no problems.

Nothing here either. There were a couple of birthdays, but certainly not everybody (and none that were born in 1900:p).

AMD4ME2, you're joking about those problems, right? It's hard to believe there would be many, if any, 2001 problems. I didn't have any problems with ICQ, @Home cable modem Internet service, or any programs.

Those trial programs expiring could be explained. It's possible that they are set to expire when the next year arrives.

nope.. I've got a screenshot of one of the birthday popups... but now that I think about it.. those guys that had birthdays could have been messing with my mind... They owe me for a past prank I played on them.

but as far as the Modem and programs go.. those are still real. I talked to 2 separate people that said that RoadRunner in Columbus Ohio went dead at midnight.

PaintShop Pro and ACDSee quit on me... Kinda strange.. maybe I got a prank virus or something.

nah.. every thing is ok.. got newer versions of the programs and they are ok now.. I was probably the victim of a joke myself with the ICQ thing.

and with the cable going out and the programs expiring perhaps it just freeked me out.
or perhaps its just denile that nothing happened last year and I was so looking forward to
something cool happening. :D

guess I'll have to hang around till Y3K now.

My sister's 486 went strange today. The BIOS clock went back to 1901 - which Windows recognised as 1980. This didn't cause any problems per se but it looked untidy and, fortunately, was easily correctable.
