Hi there.

My system was working fine yesterday, I was using it with no issues. The computer remains on all day, it is plugged in to a UPS.

Suddenly today the computer is not working. Here are the symptoms:

- Computer seemed like it was running, the fans and HDs were spinning.

- When I flipped on the the screen it stayed blank, monitor light stays orange (instead of green) as if not connected.

- The keyboard and optical mouse are not lighting up.

- I can't TS to the machine from my laptop either.

- The router DHCP is not showing that the computer has grabbed any IP address.

Here is the troubleshooting I've done so far:

- I hooked up the monitor to another machine, its working.

- I hooked up the keyboard/mouse to another machine, its working.

- I unplugged all storage devices from Power and Sata, still not POST'ing.

- I removed the memory from the machine, mobo beeps indicating missing RAM.

- I tested the voltage on an arbitrary molex connector, I am getting 12V and 5V although I'm not sure if this is a good test of the PS (probably not)

I don't have any extra DDR2 to test, and my other power supply doesn't have the CPU connector plug, so I would have to buy/borrow those to test. The video card I have will not work, its the old 8-bit AGP I think. I hope its not the CPU or mobo.

Any help is appreciated to help me solve this riddle.

Have you tried reseating the VGA? This step is not listed in your TS list..
