My current set up is as follows:

Barton 2500+ @ stock
Abit NF7-S
2x512MB Kingston HyperX PC3200
ATi Radeon 9500NP
37GB Raptor (1st version)
250GB WDSE

I play some games, but just got a nice ATi HDTV Wonder. The HDTV signal is pretty choppy though, so I suspect it is my lackluster system. I am thinking of upgrading to Intel P4 w/HT and a new video card to resolve this. I wanna record HD too so I need a beefier system. In fact I would like to record while doing other stuff on my computer as well, so I think I need HT for this. I would also like Dual DVI on the Vcard. I also play some games.

I think the best setup is this:

ASUS P4C800-E DELUXE
P4 3.0C Retail

I have a few questions:

What videocard should I get?

Should I get a P4 2.4-2.8 and OC it instead? What HS/Fan combo should I get then? (I am very concerned about noise). How reliable will this be? (My barton crapped out on me after running 3200+ stably for a while)

Is the HT setup sufficient for my needs or should I go for dual opterons?

Thanks for the help. Price is not a concern, but I'm not gonna buy a $400 vcard.
 
I am building a system for video editing and content creation, but elected to go with socket 939 instead of Intel because AMD has done so well for me in the past. I have an Abit AV8 mb and plan on using maxtor 300 gig 16 meg cache duals in raid zero. Any suggestions on what cpu, etc to add?
