Hey guys i built a new computer using the gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3-B3. I have a couple pcie1x cards that are giving my trouble. One is a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1250 and the other is a IOGEAR GICe711S3 Esata controller. These cards were purchased in late 2008.

I have two pcie1x slots and when i try to use these the system turns on and then turns of and then on again. Very strange. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Two of my HTPCs are using the same tuner, both using x1 slots. One is in a Bad Axe II, the other is on an MSI mobo. Never seen an issue like this.

First thing I would try is to remove the IOGEAR card and see if it repros.

If no repro, drop the IOGEAR into the third x1 slot. If it repros again, try swapping cards between the x1 slots. And if it still repros, drop the IOGEAR into the x4 slot.

i tried the TV-card in another computer and it posted so I know the TV card should be okay. I tried booting with the TV-card only and it still wont post. It just spins up and turns off and the spins up again. It would only be nice to have working but now I am more curious about what could be wrong. I hope the chipset isnt defective or something....

okay, so I flashed the bios from version a2 to the lastest a4 which was a couple months newer. The change log only said something vague like "increased compatibility". Anyways I was able to post with the TV card in. Strange.......

Actually while i typed this the driver has been installed for me. yay!

Now i am just going to make sure I have a stable power up sequence.
