Computer turned off!

This morning during my morning "scan" of news and such online my computer crashed. It did not freeze at all, I was clicking one of my firefox tabs and the next thing I knew it was "hard" off (it did not reboot). It was like I had lost power but nothing else even blinked. I restarted the computer and it loaded to windows, I checked to make sure all fans were spinning, they were. I had to leave for work so I shut it down until I can give it a better look tonight. I've never had this happen before does anyone have an idea?

If you're overclocking, your system might be unstable, try lowering it.

IT could also of been a small power surge, if you're not using a UPS/Surge protector, GET ONE.

Check your power coords, maybe you accidently hit a wire and it came loose.

System is at stock speeds, it's on a surge protector, I'll give the wires a look over. Could this be a sign of a system out drawing a PSU?

It's not too likely to be your PSU(at least not drawing too much power), I ran a more power hungry system on a 350w enermax(prescott OC'd to 3.5ghz, dual raptors, 6800GT OC'd to ultra speeds, 4x512mb PC4000). Just make sure everything is fully seated, make sure your fans are all spinning as an overheat can cause shutdowns as well. Clean out any dust buildup that might be in your case as well.

What got me wierded out was the fact that it just shut down. Most crashes I have experienced look more like this : normal > freeze up > burst of hdd activity > reboot. This crash was: Normal > System off. I guess overheating is a valid guess. But my cpu was at 36c and the gpu was 32c. Could it be a hot north or south bridge?
